Google's strict code of secrecy may work fine for protecting its internal operations. But the company isn't ingratiating itself to software developers by keeping major updates to its Android mobile software platform locked away in a Mountain View dungeon. Now, even those developers once very committed to pushing Google's technology forward are thinking about abandoning Android – the most closed open platform to not yet exist.
Over at Google's official Android discussion group, independent coder Nicolas Gramlich recently posted an ad hoc online petition calling on Google to at least tell developers why they can't get a new and improved SDK for the fledgling mobile platform. Google hasn't publicly updated the Android software developer's kit in more than five months.
"In order not to lose many highly encouraged developers, I think it's time to release some news about the development process of the SDK. Maybe let us know why we have to live with these long cycles," reads his open letter to Google's Android overseers. "In my personal opinion it is not the right choice to keep developers in the dark. We, the developers, are the absolute base of success to the whole Android platform."

Rapidshare says bye bye to captcha
Rapidshare.com, the 12th most popular site [via Alexa], and the most most popular file hosting site on the planet has finally, for the goodness of the eyes of common being, bid farewell to its notorious CAPTCHA.
This news is big owing to the status of rapidshare. They say rapidshare is a goldmine if you learn to use it wisely and efficiently. Many people prefer it over torrents and p2p apps like Limewire. Other benefit will be that we wont need magnifying lenses to spot the cat(etc) hidden somewhere in the CAPTCHA. I really had some tough time cracking the image code.
There is more.
Free users can now upload or download files upto 200 Mb in size. Though, they have limited the download speed for free users to 500 kilo bits/sec to compensate for the automated downloading that will result from removal of CAPTCHA. But again, they have eliminated waiting period between two downloads for free users.Though you will still have to see a 25 sec refractory period prior to every download if you are a free user.
Premium users can now download upto 10 GB/day[w.e.f. 26 June,2008]. If they are unable to use their allowed usage, their remaining usage is carried forward to the next day, the maximum accumulation limit being 50 Gbs.

Trojan Remover v6.7.0
Trojan Remover was written to aid in the removal of Trojan Horses and Internet Worms when standard anti-virus software has either failed to detect the problem or is unable to effectively eliminate it.
The majority of Virus and Trojan Scanners are well able to detect malicious Trojan Horses and Internet Worms but are not always very efficient in removing them once they have been triggered.
Trojan Remover was written specifically to carry out such a removal without the user having to manually edit system files, including the Registry.
The program also removes the additional system modifications some Trojans carry out which are ignored by other Virus and Trojan Scanners.
Trojan Remover examines the system files, including Windows Registry and will determine the programs and files that are loaded at boot time. The vast majority of trojans are loaded this way.
Trojan Remover will scan ALL the files loaded at boot time for Remote Access Trojans (’backdoors’, like NetBus, SubSeven, Optix Pro, Back Orifice etc.), Internet Worms and other malware.
For each identified Trojan Horse, Worm, or other malware, Trojan Remover will pop up an alert screen showing the file location and name; it will offer to remove the program’s reference from the system files and allow you to rename the file to stop its activation.
Changes in this version
* Added new scan routine: Autorun.inf files are now searched for and scanned.
* Improved registry scan to include checks of Drivers32 entries (an obscure loading point used by some recent malware).
* Improved detection and removal of Backdoor.Rustock variants.
*Added new heuristic detection methods for the VirtuMonde/Vundo malware family.

New FRAUD strategies - Keyboard
Hi Friends,
Attention PleasePLEASE BE CAREFUL WHENEVER YOU'RE USING A PC AT A PUBLIC PLACE (Like INTERNET CAFES..ETC).
CHECK THE BACK OF THE PC AND SEE IF THE BELOW DEVICE IS THERE..IF SO..DO NOT USE IT!!!!

New storing device fits at the end of the keyboard cable connecting to the PC specialized to save all typed keys in
Mostly could be used in net cafes, exhibitions, hotels and airports therefore be careful especially the people who use the internet in these places to enter their bank accounts online or any other important sites.
After you enter the bank account and leave the PC it will be easy to open your account again as all what you have typed has been saved in the Black device.
Therefore, you should check the PC for any suspicious piece behind it before using the net in public places for important sites.
Please send it to all who you know to educate them against this fraud.

Olympic Torch (virus hoax)
Olympic Torch (virus hoax)
If received, this hoax e-mail can safely be ignored and deleted.
Contents of a typical hoax email:
A typical e-mail will contain text similar to the following:
You should be alert during the next days: Do not open any message with an attached filed called "Invitation" regardless of who sent it .
It is a virus that opens an Olympic Torch which "burns" the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list, that is why you should send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.
If you receive a mail called "invitation", though sent by a friend, do not open it and shut down your computer immediately.
This is the worst virus announced by CNN, it has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever.
This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept
